How we work

A private investment company, and nothing more than that

JO Advisors UK Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 14423400, incorporated in October 2022, with its registered office at Rear Of 17 Plantagenet Road, Barnet, Hertfordshire EN5 5JG.

We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and we carry on no regulated activity. We do not advise on investments, arrange deals in investments, manage anyone else's money, operate a fund, or accept money from the public. We invest our own capital in businesses we have examined, and nothing on this site is an offer, an invitation or a financial promotion.

The questions we get most

Can I invest alongside you?

No. We don't accept funds from anyone — not the public, not private individuals. We're not FCA authorised, and taking outside money would be a regulated activity.

Will you advise me on my investments?

No. Investment advice is regulated and we're not authorised to give it. Speak to an FCA-authorised adviser; you can check the Financial Services Register.

Do you charge founders a fee to be considered?

Never. Reading a proposal is free. Anyone charging you a fee for the chance of investment is worth walking away from.

How much do you invest?

It varies and is agreed case by case. We'd rather discuss it on a call than publish a figure that makes the wrong proposals arrive.

Do you take control of the business?

No. We take minority stakes and expect founders to keep running the company. We do expect proper reporting and a seat at the table on major decisions.

What happens to my information?

It stays confidential and is used only to assess the proposal. We'll sign a non-disclosure agreement where you want one.
